Robothrone is an exciting inter-school competition designed to ignite the passion for robotics and IoT among young learners. This platform provides students from grades 3 to 9 with the opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas and technical skills.

What are the age divisions for Robothrone 2025-26?
We have three divisions: Junior Division (ages 8-10) for basic Scratch programming and simple robotics, Intermediate Division (ages 11-13) for Arduino-based projects and IoT fundamentals, and Senior Division (ages 14-16) for advanced robotics, AI integration, and complex problem-solving.
What themes can we choose for our projects?
Each division has specific themes. Junior division focuses on Scratch programming and smart home helpers. Intermediate division covers environmental monitoring and smart transportation. Senior division includes Industry 4.0 solutions and healthcare innovation. All themes are designed to be age-appropriate and educational.
Is there a registration fee?
No, participation in Robothrone is completely free. We believe in making STEM education accessible to all students. However, teams are responsible for their own project materials and equipment as per the division requirements.
What equipment and software do we need?
Junior: Computers with Scratch software (free), basic craft materials. Intermediate: Arduino UNO, sensors, breadboards. Senior: Raspberry Pi, advanced sensors, Python development environment. Detailed equipment lists are provided in the resources section.
Can we get mentorship during the competition?
Yes! We provide mentors including industry professionals, engineering students, and experienced teachers. Mentorship is available through our virtual platform, and you can schedule one-on-one sessions for technical guidance and project feedback.
How are projects judged and what are the criteria?
Projects are evaluated on: Innovation & Creativity (25%), Technical Implementation (30%), Functionality (20%), Presentation & Documentation (15%), and Real-World Impact (10%). Age-appropriate standards are applied for each division.
What prizes can we win?
Each division offers ₹25,000 for first place, ₹15,000 for second, and ₹10,000 for third, plus medals, certificates, and equipment kits. Special awards include ₹5,000 each for Best Innovation, Best Design, People's Choice, and Best Presentation across all divisions.
When is the orientation session and prize distribution?
The orientation session is scheduled for November 15, 2025, after registration closes. Prize distribution and award ceremony will take place from March 15-30, 2026, giving teams ample time to develop their projects.
Can students from the same school form teams across divisions?
Yes, students from the same school can form teams within their respective age divisions. However, each team must compete in only one division based on the oldest team member's age. Cross-division collaboration is encouraged for learning but not for competition.
What happens if we miss the project submission deadline?
Late submissions are accepted with a penalty deduction in scores. However, we encourage teams to submit on time to be eligible for all prizes and recognition. Extensions may be granted for exceptional circumstances with prior approval from the organizing committee.
